Project Cloud Kids Shoes Review: Stylish, Affordable, and Surprisingly Impressive

Like many parents, I’ve learned that buying shoes for kids can get expensive fast. Earlier this year I spent nearly $100 on a really nice pair of hiking boots for my daughter for a camping trip. She wore them once…and then outgrew them.

For everyday shoes, I typically spend anywhere from $50 to $100, but there’s another problem besides price. Most of the shoes I buy look like they’ve survived years of use after only a week or two. That’s perfectly fine for school, but when your child needs something nicer for dinner, family gatherings, birthdays, or other events, those worn-out school shoes just don’t cut it.

While searching for an affordable pair of “going out” shoes, I came across Project Cloud.

The first thing that caught my attention was the huge selection of styles and colors. For an 8- or 9-year-old who likes having choices, that’s a big plus.

The second thing was the price.

Most of their kids’ sneakers were under $40, which honestly surprised me. I read through the reviews before buying and noticed that while customers generally liked the shoes, durability was one area where some people had concerns. Since I was looking for shoes to wear after school and on weekends—not everyday school shoes—I decided to take a chance and bought two pairs.

After a month of use, I’m happy to say they’ve exceeded my expectations.

My 9-year-old absolutely loves the look of them and says they’re comfortable. My wife immediately liked them too, which is always a good sign. Even better, we wore them to a neighborhood party and several of the other moms asked where we bought them. That’s usually a pretty good indicator you’ve found something worth talking about.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly everyday school shoe that will survive months of playground abuse, you may want to research durability a little more. However, if you need an affordable, stylish, and comfortable pair of shoes for evenings, weekends, family outings, or special occasions, Project Cloud has been an excellent value for our family.

Pros
Excellent value (under $40)
Tons of styles and colors
Comfortable according to my daughter
Great-looking shoes for dinners, parties, and family events

Cons
Some online reviews mention durability concerns.
I haven’t owned them long enough to judge long-term wear.

Overall Rating: 4.5/5

For the price, Project Cloud delivered exactly what we were looking for—a stylish pair of shoes that looks great without spending $60–$100 every time my daughter needs something nice to wear.
